I have a Master's degree in Education. I also have over 20 years of teaching experience.
I work with students of all ages, from elementary school to high school. However, my primary students are 9th-12th graders.
I believe in a personalized approach to tutoring, tailoring my teaching style to each individual student's needs and learning style. Each student is smart in different ways, and I use those ways to teach the student most effectively.
The aim of ACT tutoring is to identify any hindrances to the test - content gaps, test anxiety, keyword recognition, testing strategies, or question/concept correspondence - and address those effectively so that the student can thrive in the testing environment.
Each session is one hour in length. There are ACT boot camps and one-day intensives which are longer.
Students should bring completed homework (assigned the week prior) with all work shown, sharpened pencils, scratch paper, and a scientific calculator (preferably the TI-84).
